📜 Your Valparai Story – Day by Day
Day 1 – Coimbatore to Valparai via Aliyar & Monkey Falls
8:30 AM: Your driver meets you at your Coimbatore hotel or the airport. We drive towards the Anamalai ranges, making our first stop at the picturesque Aliyar Dam – a great spot for photos and a quick stroll. 11:00 AM: Next, the ever‑refreshing Monkey Falls (a natural cascade where you can dip your feet). 12:30 PM: Begin the 40‑hairpin climb to Valparai, surrounded by tea estates and cardamom plantations. 1:30 PM: Check into your resort/homestay – we pick properties with valley views. 3:00 PM: After lunch, visit the Nallamudi Viewpoint (twin viewpoints offering a panoramic view of the shola forests) and later Iyerpadi Viewpoint to watch the sunset paint the hills gold. Evening: Dinner at your stay, or try a local “tea kadai” for authentic flavours. Overnight in Valparai.
Local tip: Keep your camera ready – you might spot Nilgiri langurs or even a great hornbill near the viewpoint.
Day 2 – Tea Factory, Sholayar Dam & Return
7:30 AM: Early breakfast. 8:30 AM: Visit a working tea factory – watch the leaves wither, roll, and dry, and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed CTC tea. 10:00 AM: Drive to the serene Sholayar Dam, one of the largest dams in the region, nestled deep in the forest. Keep an eye out for elephants, gaur, and sambar deer along the way (best sightings early morning). 12:30 PM: Lunch at a local restaurant (try the Kerala‑style fish curry if available). 2:00 PM: Begin the descent back to Coimbatore. 5:00 PM: Drop at Coimbatore airport/railway station. You'll carry back the calm of the hills.
